Excite Your Snow Day

The first snow day of the winter is always so exciting; you can kick back and do all of the things that you usually can only dream of during the school day. But by the end of the winter, you’ve done it all. Here are some ways to excite your snow day that you may not have thought of in December!

Experiment with food!

Today is the day. You finally have the time to try that recipe you repinned weeks ago. You have time to fully enjoy breakfast, lunch and dinner, so go crazy! Having trouble finding inspiration that uses ingredients you have in your kitchen? Try Supercook, a website that gives you recipes using the ingredients you already have! Have friends over for an indoor picnic.

Blow Bubbles

If the weather is below freezing, the bubbles will freeze and can even break. It’s not something you see everyday, and it definitely makes an interesting Instagram post. Even better, if you know anyone with access to a hot tub, put on the bubbler, toss the bubbles out and build mountains of frozen bubbles.

Paint the Snow

You can use food coloring and make the snow your canvas. If you feel like getting even more creative, build a snowman, snow penguin or another creature, and use the food coloring to bring it to life!

Have a Contest

Gather your friends and have a contest. Who can build the craziest snowman? Who can put the most clothes on a snowman? Create an Olympic obstacle course and see who can get through fastest (or at all).

Break Out the Old Games

Get family and friends together and play Monopoly since you have some extra time in your day! Play Twister to keep active inside! Or bring the Twister spinner outside;  you can use food coloring to make the circles in the snow and see if the indoor Twister champ can maintain their title on the ice!
