It’s So Hard To Say Goodbye

Goodbye, Au revior, Adios, Auf Wiedersehen, etc. those are the words I say to one of the most interesting, inspiring, and eventful 4 years of my life. These 4 years in high school are the years that molded me into the man I am today and I will be forever thankful for that.

When I first started high school I was so dependent on my parents and teachers, but I started to notice that as time goes by, the more independent I had become. PVA has taught me to grow as an individual person and I realized that my you’s had to turn into I’s because the older you get, the closer we get to adulthood. Little by little, PVA has risen my responsibility level and that has helped me grow each in.

Also to those who think that they can just go through high school without a care I would like to say this you will lose sleep, self-respect, and trust from others and if you’re ok with that then go right ahead, but remember this it’s not a good feeling. That’s a warning now it’s up to you to heed my words or go your own way. There are three things I want to share here to end my high school years:

First, prom which to me was the greatest because of not only did it create anticipation, I got to dress up and find a date. All of those ingredients would lead up to a great time for any high school students. Second is graduation ceremony. That is one of the greatest achievement of your life. When you graduate you feel a great amount of emotion come over you. When I graduated I was overwhelm with so many emotions that I had to literally stop myself from crying by keeping a whole box of Kleenex next to me. Also at the ceremony, everyone you know is there and you have the people you love there. It’s even more special when you see your mom, dad, and siblings in the stands cheering you on to get the diploma.

Now last but not least is adulthood, which is the biggest over previous two because this, you do not have any control over. I can’t say that I do want to grow up. As I said earlier in the post, it only gets harder as you age, but in the midst of all the hardship, it is the process that reveals and build your character.

In conclusion I would like to add that high school was a great experience and I hope all the freshmen, sophomores, juniors, and upcoming seniors enjoy another great year of high school!

Sincerely,
Jacob Simmons
