It Pays to Be a Student
In Philadelphia, being a student gets you more than just an education. For all of the time you put into your classes and homework, you can put more time into the city around you. To make this even better, many places around Philly offer student discounts as a reward for your hard work.
The Kimmel Center for the Performing Arts: The Kimmel Center is a performance venue in the heart of center city Philadelphia that hosts a large variety of performances throughout the year. Students are able to get tickets discounted at $10 to select performances, a great opportunity to get out and experience the arts and culture.
Philadelphia’s Magic Gardens: Students are able to visit Philly’s Magic Gardens, an intricately mosaiced gallery and garden on South Street for only $5.
Eastern State Penitentiary: Eastern State opened nearly 200 years ago as a home to teach criminals a lesson for their crimes. Now, students can experience the architechture and the history (believe me, there are some extraordinary stories) for free using their STAMP pass.
Mütter Museum: The Mütter Museum is far more than a medical history museum. For free with your STAMP pass, you can explore the beauty and the oddities of the human body, and learn about the history of the diagnoses and treatments of diseases.
Philadelphia Zoo: The first zoo in America was our very own Philadelphia Zoo, which is now home to nearly 1,300 animals, many of which you will likely never see elsewhere. Students can visit for free just by showing their STAMP pass.
Philadelphia Flower Show: The Philadelphia Flower Show is coming, and students can get discounts of up to $10! Head to the Convention Center from March 1-9 and see what you know as horticulture become fantastic art!
